WHAT IS UBE?
Ube is an iOS app for group dining. You write the table's order, scan the receipt when it arrives, assign items to each person, and send everyone a payment card with a QR code — all in one flow.
HOW DOES ORDER WRITING WORK?
Type in dishes as your group orders. When you're ready, show the screen to your server. Use Waiter Mode to keep the screen awake and prevent it from sleeping at the table.
HOW DOES RECEIPT SCANNING WORK?
Point your camera at the receipt and Ube reads it automatically — items, taxes, service charges, and fees included. Ube uses Apple Intelligence for secure, on-device processing on supported devices. For other devices, it uses secure Cloud AI. Either way, Ube matches what it scanned against your written order so items are already pre-labelled.
CAN I SPLIT A SINGLE ITEM BETWEEN MULTIPLE PEOPLE?
Yes. Tap any item and assign it across multiple people. Taxes and service charges are distributed proportionally based on what each person ordered.
HOW DO PAYMENT CARDS WORK?
First, you add your payment handle in the app settings (GCash, PayMaya, bank transfer, or any payment app). After splitting, each person gets a personalized card showing exactly what they owe, featuring a QR code linked to your handle. Your friends scan the code and pay directly through their preferred app.
DOES UBE PROCESS PAYMENTS?
No. Ube does not handle money. It generates a QR code that links to your own payment handle — you set the link, your friends scan it.
WHAT IS WAITER MODE?
Waiter Mode keeps the screen awake and optimizes the display for handing the phone to your server. No more tapping to wake the screen mid-order.
ARE MY SESSIONS SAVED?
Yes. Active sessions are saved as drafts so you can pick up right where you left off if you switch apps or lock your phone.
DOES UBE WORK OFFLINE?
Order writing, splitting, and card sharing work fully offline. Receipt scanning also works offline on devices supported by Apple Intelligence; for other devices, Cloud AI is used, which requires an internet connection.
